Haidian district kicked off a forestation project yesterday on a plot that used to be home to 50,000 low-income tenants in northwestern Beijing, the Beijing Evening News reported.
The first 2,000 trees were planted yesterday in Tangjialing, a 840-acre public property where migrants and students, referred to as the "ants," used to live.
